Principal organizations in GSN
The Principals of the GEOSS Service Network are:
- Columbia University, CIESIN
- George Mason University, LAITS
- Istituto di Metodologie per l’Analisi Ambientale (IMAA) of the Italian National Research Council (CNR)
- NASA
- University of Nottingham, Centre for Geospatial Science
- Washington University, CAPITA, St. Louis, MO
An OGC Network Principal is an OGC Member organization that contributes the following:
- Substantial effort in the planning of the network, including but not limited to
- contributing a dedicated person to managing the development and maintenance of the network as an OGC IP Team member
- regular member of the network planning activities including telecons and network documentation
- development of scenarios including arranging for server, data, and client participation in the network
- Provides one or more components of the following type to the network:
- a node with several OGC-compliant servers with availability of >0.99,
- a client that is freely available to any use of the network including the public
Principals will be listed as the primary organizations responsible for the network. This recognition will be made through the web page for the network, in press releases about the network, and other OGC outreach materials about the network.
