TDWG GML Activity

The TDWG Geospatial Internest Group is working on standards that will allow the interoperable exchange of biological information. One work item of the group is to define framework for development of UML class representations for OrganismOccurence as a FeatureType (from the ISO TC211 metamodel) that will be serialized using GML.

About TDWG Biodiversity Information Standards (previously the Taxonomic Database Working Group - TDWG) is a not for profit scientific and educational association. Biodiversity Information Standards is affiliated to the International Union of Biological Sciences and was formed to establish international collaboration among biological database projects to promote the wider and more effective dissemination of information about the World's heritage of biological organisms for the benefit of the world at large. Biodiversity Information Standards now focuses on the development of standards for the exchange of biological/biodiversity data.
