Aeronautical Information Exchange Model (AIXM-GML)

The Aeronautical Information Exchange Model (AIXM) is designed to enable the management and distribution of Aeronautical Information Services (AIS) data in digital format.

AIXM 5 takes advantages of existing and emerging information engineering standards and supports current and future aeronautical information system requirements. The major tenets are: 1. An exhaustive temporality model, including support for the temporary information contained in NOTAM 2. Alignment with ISO standards for geospatial information, including the use of the Geography Markup Language (GML) 3.2.
