AIP Telecon 2012-01-31 Notes
- Recap of IIB-Prep Meeting, Jan 23-24 in Madrid
- Steve Browdy presented IN-05 including AIP-4 results, AIP-5 plans.

- Discussion:
- Steve Browdy summarized that he participated both in an IN-05 Task meeting as well as the IIB-Prep meeting. He commented that the IIB list of priorities puts User management and licensing at the top. There was discussion in the Madrid meetings that additional components would be needed for IN-05.
- Doug Nebert attended the Madrid meetings and provide comments during this telecon. Doug commente that it will be difficult to add Components to the Task, but that we should keep track of the key work activities, e.g., semantics. Doug will be leading an activity to connect DataCORE to the GEOSS architecture. This may need to be supported by AIP-5.
- George stated that one of GEOSS DataCORE allowing user registration is a driving requirement for the user management funcitonality that will be addressed in AIP-5.
- Humbu attended the Madrid meetings representing GEO Sec.
- He listed actions from IIB that apply to IN-05:
- Principles for impelementing GEOSS components to be defined.
- Interoperability gaps to be identified.
- IIB seeks review of AIP CFP. (George and Humbu will coordinate on announcing the CFP to the IIB)
- Steve note that we also are obliged to consider the Task Sheets that are posted as of Feb 1st in develoment of AIP-5 CFP.

- Kickoff Workshop (Geneva with WPS TBD: 2 days in week of April 30 - May 4th
- The draft plan for that week was summarized as follows:
- IIB on Monday
- Work Planning Symposium (WPS) on Tuesday and Wednesday
- IIB on Thursday morning
- AIP-5 Kickoff Workshop on Thursday afternoon and Friday all day.
- Humbu will track this draft plan in the GEO Sec planning for the WPS. Hopefully we can confirm this on Feb 7th AIP telecon.

- Steve Browdy commented that if the development is for a small change (bug fix) in GCI components then it should be an IN-03 task. If it is new functionality it should be in IN-05, even it may affect existing GCI components.

- Hervé sent input 30 Jan - that will be included in the Initial draft
- John Evans commented that he was contributing based on the CEOS/WGISS Disaster Management Activity.
- Lucia commented that it would be good to have a mobile component with DM.
- George replied that Mobile components are already to be consideredin in AIP-5 to meet needs of Health SBA. The technology development of mobile would also support DM scenario.
- Water Resource Section -
- Matt Austin sent version - that will be included in the Initial draft
- STeve offered to send info on UNEP Live
- Doug Cripe organized a telecon with Water SBA Task a week or so ago and plans to organize another.
- Based on that Telecon, David Maidement commented on the Water section.
- Doug asked about the water element of GeoWOW. George replied that Ulrich Looser made such as suggestion in the Water SBA coordination telecon. Ulrich is part of GeoWOW.
- George will send a message to Doug suggesting another telecon after the CFP draft is released.
