OGC Meeting Toulouse
Subject: An OGC session dedicated to policy makers, strategists, marketers and sales people, next month in Toulouse!
The Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) is a consensus-driven standards body dedicated to developing and maintaining open, geospatial and location standards. Every 3 months meetings are held around the world for OGC members to get together and discuss topics related to standards development. The next meeting is in Toulouse, France from the 20th to 24th September and you are invited! You can join by Web conferencing as well, if it's too far or too costly to attend.

Attendance charges apply for non-members, except for the free Business Value Working Group seminar. One of the opportunities in Toulouse is for OGC (and non-OGC) members to involve their sales, marketing, strategy and policy members of staff in this meeting. There will be a Business Value Working Group session in Toulouse and this is open to all who are not technically focussed.

Other key areas that will be covered throughout the week include 3D, Aviation, CityGML, Data Quality, Emergency Response and Disaster Management, Geo Rights Management (GeoRM), Geospatial Mass Market, GML, Hydrology, Meteorology, Security, Sensor Web Enablement (SWE) and Workflow. There will also be a meeting of the OGC Europe Forum. This is an umbrella forum for other national/regional fora (a growing number), such as the OGC France Forum and the UK & Ireland Forum. This will provide an excellent opportunity to discuss European activities like INSPIRE or GIGAS EuroSIF, and there will be a condensed overview for the ESDIN eContentplus project. Finally, there will also be an Interoperability Day on Friday 24th run by the OGC France Forum.

The meetings are a great place to network and meet industry experts, as well as observe or participate in the consensus process. You can follow contributions made by OGC members around open geospatial standards and get an insight into emerging market trends. Share knowledge and knowhow.
