• AIP-3 Development Milestones
  • Objective:  SBA scenarios implemented with common architecture use cases
    • Joint E2E / Scenario calls to go over use case incorporation and refinements
  • Now:  Development of services and components.
    • SBA WGs to identify resources for implementing their scenarios
    • Develop Wiring Diagram from template
  • Testing is underway:  
    • 1st) Use Case Testing, 2nd) Scenario Testing
    • Plan for AIP-3 testing
  • Demo captures complete in Early October
    • Capture workshop as virtual event

  • SIF Interoperability Workshop, August 31, before ADC-14.
    • Themes for workshop identified by Steve Browdy.

    • George suggested using the AIP use cases for the workshop as focus toward joint progress.

    • Will provided an update for the WG
    • Telecon of Global Drought Monitoring System and AIP
      • Coordination of several drought management activities (NIDIS, EDO, Princeton)
      • AIP contributing the IT machinery through use case development. 
      • GDMS has long term science vision, AIP providing iterative development to meet those needs,.
      • Need to get more drought data sets registered.
    • Water Ontology
      • Will and Josh working with Semantics WG and others on ontology
      • Paper to be written in the near term.
    • Discussing with Gulf of Maine project about beach closures.
    • Developing concepts for October demo focused on drought management for several global regions.

  • Biodiversity - Stefano Nativi, Doug Nebert, Mattia Santoro
    • E-mail report from Doug Nebert
      • The posted "Biodiversity and Climate Change" BioCC Polar Science scenario was from AIP-2 and is not in-play for AIP-3 and should be removed from the googlesite page.
      • The scenario labeled 'Arctic SDI' is the one we are supporting this year. the focus of this scenario is to provide climate change model outputs and current weather and forecasts to Arctic decision makers for environmental monitoring, logistics, planning, and emergency response. 
      • To accomplish this, WMS and WCS are being configured along with KML wrappers to enable data exploration (display) of IPCC-DATA.org model output maps for the globe with a focus on the polar regions via KML browser. We are also configuring a WMS and WCS interface on real-time met data and forecast data, in 'geographic' coordinates and in a polar projection, from GFS models and data feeds at NCAR/UCAR.A demo KML wrapper for the IPCC WMS has been created and shared by GMU for enhanced access to the IPCC climate model output data. Similar KML and WxS service interfaces will be established at NCAR and are being registered with GEOSS for data visualization and extraction.

    • Erin provided an update for the WG
    • Telecon this Thursday, August 17
    • working to resolve interoperabiltiy of WPS and SOS
      • Univ. of Muenster providing WPS
      • Issue is Coordinate Reference System is different between SOS and WPS.
      • Erin will check if this is a standards issues or an implementation issue.
    • Gathering scenario ideas and refining/extending Wiring Diagram.
    • AQ CoP working with the CEOS CWIC - comments by Erin and Liping
      • CWIC = CEOS WGISS Integrated Catalogue
      • Discussing coordination on metadata based on both using ISO 19115-1, ISO 19115-2, and OGC Catalogue core metadata
      • CWIC Telecon August 25th.  
      • Important to continuation of CWIC and AIP.
  • Disaster - Didier Giacobbo, Arnaud Cauchy
    • Pinky from GIS FCU provided an update
    • Arnaud is on holiday until 23 August.
    • Working on scenario and wiring diagram.

  • Google Sites, Calendar, Telecons, DimDim
    • Dimdim lack of VOIP - PSTN bridge is frustrating and Freeconference call quality is sporadic, but free is ... Any suggestions for better options are welcome.
    • Continue to invite organizations to contribute telecon resources.
    • Josh encouraged people to focus on capturing their work in the AIP google site.   This will support the development of the Engineering Reports after the demo is complete.

    • Location for AIP-3 Contributions to BP Wiki
    • Steve point the group to recent work on BP wiki relevant to AIP
      • Biodiversity page on BP Wiki created by Steve as an example.  
      • Steve is seeking comments on the page from the Biodiversity WG and other WGs
      • George: should the page be organized by AIP phase or rather by topic area, e.g., data, processing relevant to WG
      • There should be migration from the AIP google pages to the BP Wiki.
        • google sites are for work in progress and coordination, e.g., telecon notices and minutes
        • the BP Wiki should build from the google sites toward conclusions.
      • Brad Lee asked what the relation was to AIP architecture document?
        • George to add AIP Architecture link to Architecture page on BP Wiki.

  • Steve appealing to AIP WGs for SIP coordination
    • Erin agreed to work with Steve regarding the use of standards in AQ and Health WG
    • Will agreed to work with Steve regarding the emerging awareness of standards in the Water CoP
    • These two communities can provide different perspectives of CoPs use of standards.
