XPlanGML - Sharing spatially related planning documents

Within the framework of the XPlanung E-Government project, an object-oriented data exchange format, XPlanGML is being developed for loss-free exchanges among IT systems of zoning plans, regional plans, and land use plans, which supports internet-based availability of plans, and allows evaluation and visualization of the contents of different plans. The pilot implementaion XPlanGML-Toolbox developed by the Karsruhe Institute of Technology is used nationwide in Germany for converting existing plans and testing XPlanGML implementations.

In addition to the standardisation activities the working group is engaged with scientific research on the semantic data model XPlanGML. Main topic are:

  • Rule-based testing of XPlanGML implementations;

  • Automatic conformity testing of XPlanGMl models;

  • Visualisation of XPlanGML based spatial plans with SVG vectorgraphics;

  • Integration of XPlanGML with other GML based data models (CityGMLGeoSciML) on application level.
