- Some challenges for the WG based upon DSTF direction.
- Four Assumptions from CFP were:
- Use Conditions are to be listed in the Dataset metadata
- CSR mostly lists Service Metadata - not dataset metadata
- Service Metadata provides a link to dataset metadata records of which there may be thousands for a service.
- Null condition: If dataset metadata does not specify the use conditions, the user should assume that the conditions are not free and open.

- DSTF has proposed to make the Null condition that if use conditions are not stated then the assumption is free and open. DSTF has does not strongly support that data providers will populate dataset metadata.
- ExCom will review the DSTF approach this month.
- Data Sharing WG is obligied to provide a workable solution which must proceed with the first three of the four assumptions. DS WG will need to address the change in Null Condition assumption.
- DS WG demonstrations initial ideas
- Compusult offering to use Portal to demonstrate user interface to data condition metadata.
- CIESIN offering to host a server that has data condition metadata for a dataset offering.

- Josh commented that there was semantic activities in the Water Scenario.
- Mattia reported on the use of the CHUASI ontology and extenstions for the AIP-3 Drought Scenario using the EuroGEOSS framework.
- Updates on the Semantic Use Cases is not known.
- Where to register ontologies for GEOSS use?
- Steve Browdy suggested the MMI Registry and teh BioPortal Registry as candiates.
- Steve and Josh discussed that a registy is not sufficient. Steve commented that the text and mapping could be listed in the BP Wiki.
- Josh commented that in any case the ontologies should be registered in the CSR as a resource.
- These several ideas for how to handle ontology management need to be developed into a proposed approach.

- A page about the DH activities at the INSPIRE Conference was created.

- GEOSS Record will be posted as a downloadable file. Could not find a resolution to the permissions.

- Need to develop an approach for AIP-3 Engineering Reports
- Need documentation approach that allows to state that the conclusions of AIP-3. Collaboration site is for discussions prior to conclusions.
- Need to offer method for comments on AIP-3 ERs after AIP-3 without changing the ER
- Should the ERs be documented in Word/PDF or in html?
- Steve to create a page for each AIP-2 ER. This will allow comments on the individual ERs in the wiki.
